ABOUT THE EXHIBITION: “Urban Ballads“ shows a series of 56 photographs, made in 2010-2013 in Berlin, New York, Paris, London, Shanghai and Tokyo. Many of the photographs show strangers, they are unposed, they are street photographs. They could be film stills, they could be part of a movie. They evoke stories in the beholder, who invents the before and after.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jürgen Bürgin started to dive into street photography in 2010. In 2011 he has been shortlisted for a “Sony World Photography Awards“ in the category “After
Dark“. He received 2nd placement in the “Brennpunkt Award“ and 1st placement in 2 photography competitions of the renown photogallery C/O Berlin.

See NYC

I was striked by the unexpected news from States, I’m happy, proud and loud to share with you the invitation to international exhibition which is about to take place at See Gallery in NYC between July 25 and September 10. In fact I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to attend the Opening but my friends from NYC are about to make a short documentary of this event. More to come soon!

see into the trees
find the girl
while you can
Come closer and see
see into the dark
just follow your eyes”

..sometimes a nano sec is enough to break though deepest thoughts about life. thank you.

“You’re an interesting species. An interesting mix. You’re capable of such beautiful dreams, and such horrible nightmares. You feel so lost, so cut off, so alone, only you’re not. See, in all our searching, the only thing we’ve found that makes the emptiness bearable, is each other” Contact [1997]

everybody is tired of the frozen temperatures, rapidly growing snowflakes outside the window and winter grayscale – I do believe this frozen moment will be soon only a chilling reminder of extreme long winter in Europe!
